The Rosario Central 1989–91 Home Retro Football Jersey celebrates a memorable period in the history of the Argentine club. Under manager Ángel Tulio Zof, Rosario Central finished fourth in the 1989–90 Argentine Primera División, earning qualification for the Pre-Libertadores play-offs. The following season introduced the new Apertura and Clausura format, with Central finishing fifth in the 1990 Apertura before experiencing a more difficult Clausura campaign in 1991.

The era featured several important players, including Juan Antonio Pizzi, David Bisconti, José Chamot, Pedro Uliambre and Ariel Cuffaro Russo. Pizzi scored 15 league goals during the 1989–90 season, while Bisconti led the team's scoring charts with 12 goals in 1990–91. Young defender Chamot also gained valuable first-team experience before beginning an international career that would eventually include three World Cup appearances for Argentina.

The home jersey features Rosario Central's unmistakable royal-blue and golden-yellow vertical stripes, a colour combination synonymous with the club's identity and its passionate supporters at the Gigante de Arroyito. The design is associated with the prominent Zanella chest sponsorship, the traditional Rosario Central crest and contrasting collar and sleeve detailing characteristic of late-1980s Argentine football. Its bold striped appearance captures the character of the club's 1989–91 era and makes it a distinctive retro shirt for supporters and collectors.

  • Rec. Player Printing Options

During the 1989–91 period, Argentine clubs generally used traditional match-day numbers rather than permanent squad numbers. For historical accuracy, number-only printing is recommended.

Best Printing Choice: 9 (Juan Antonio Pizzi)

Other Strong Options: 10 (David Bisconti) / 7 (Pedro Uliambre) / 5 (José Chamot) / 2 (Ariel Cuffaro Russo)

We recommend No.9 for Juan Antonio Pizzi as the leading printing option for the Rosario Central 1989–91 Home Jersey. Pizzi was the club's outstanding attacking player during the 1989–90 campaign, scoring 15 league goals and helping Rosario Central finish fourth in the Argentine Primera División.

His goalscoring performances made him one of the competition's leading forwards and played an important role in securing Rosario Central's place in the Pre-Libertadores play-offs. Pizzi would subsequently enjoy a successful career in European football, making his early Rosario Central years particularly interesting to collectors.

No.10 for David Bisconti is the strongest alternative for the 1990–91 season. Bisconti scored 12 league goals during the inaugural Apertura and Clausura campaign, becoming Rosario Central's leading scorer. His No.10 shirt is documented in contemporary match selections, making it an especially suitable choice for a 1990–91-specific version.

No.5 for José Chamot offers another appealing connection to Argentine football history. Chamot emerged through Rosario Central's youth system and developed into a defender who would later represent Argentina at three FIFA World Cups. Because his match-day number varied during this period, collectors seeking an exact recreation should select the number associated with a particular match.
