RONALDINHO #10 — 2007/08 FINAL SEASON AT BARCELONA
Ronaldinho wore the iconic No.10 shirt for Barcelona during the 2007/08 season, the final chapter of his unforgettable five-year spell at the Camp Nou. By then, the Brazilian had already transformed the club’s modern history, winning two La Liga titles, the 2005/06 Champions League and two FIFA World Player of the Year awards during his years in Barcelona.
Under Frank Rijkaard, Ronaldinho remained an important attacking figure during the first half of the campaign. He scored eight La Liga goals, including two against Athletic Club, two against Real Betis and a memorable overhead kick against Atlético Madrid. Barcelona also competed deep into Europe, eventually reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
His season, however, was increasingly disrupted by physical problems. Ronaldinho made his final appearance on 9 March 2008 before a hamstring injury effectively ended his campaign. He therefore did not participate in Barcelona’s Champions League semi-final against Manchester United. In July, his five-year Barcelona career officially ended when he moved to AC Milan.
