The RC Lens 1993–94 home shirt represents a memorable early-1990s campaign for Les Sang et Or. Patrice Bergues' side finished 10th in French Division 1, while Roger Boli enjoyed an outstanding individual season, scoring 20 league goals to finish joint-top of the championship's scoring charts. The squad also featured future Lens favourites including Éric Sikora, Jean-Guy Wallemme and Frédéric Déhu.

Lens made their biggest impact in the Coupe de France, progressing all the way to the semi-finals. The highlight came at the Parc des Princes, where they eliminated Paris Saint-Germain 2–1 in the quarter-finals through goals from Roger Boli and Pierre Laigle, before their run was eventually ended by Montpellier.

The shirt is instantly recognisable for its bold red-and-yellow striped design, a look carried over from the 1992–93 season and closely associated with Lens in the early 1990s. The strong vertical striping gives the shirt a distinctly traditional Sang et Or identity, while the Shopi sponsor across the front provides one of its most recognisable period details. Its combination of vivid club colours, broad striping and unmistakable early-1990s styling makes this one of the most characteristic Lens shirts from the years preceding the club's later domestic successes.

  • Season Information

    Season: 1993–94
    Club: RC Lens
    Manager: Patrice Bergues
Competitions: French Division 1, Coupe de France
    French Division 1: 10th
    Coupe de France: Semi-finals
    European Competition: None

RC Lens finished 10th in the 1993–94 French Division 1, recording 13 wins, 13 draws and 12 defeats. The standout individual was Roger Boli, who scored 20 league goals, finishing joint-top scorer in Division 1 alongside Youri Djorkaeff and Nicolas Ouédec.

Lens also enjoyed an excellent Coupe de France run. They defeated Trélazé 5–0, Bastia 3–0 and Charleville 3–1 after extra time before producing the highlight of their cup campaign: a 2–1 quarter-final victory away to Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, with Boli equalising and Pierre Laigle scoring the winner. Their run ended in the semi-finals with a 2–0 home defeat to Montpellier.

The season is also notable in the longer history of Lens because the squad already contained several players who would become strongly associated with the club, including Éric Sikora, Jean-Guy Wallemme and the young Frédéric Déhu. The home shirt itself was a carry-over design from 1992–93, continuing into the 1993–94 campaign.

  • Rec. Player Printing Options

The 1993–94 season came before permanent squad numbers were introduced in French football, so match shirts used traditional match-day numbering rather than season-long player-specific numbers. For a historically appropriate shirt, we recommend number-only printing without a player name. The numbers below should therefore be understood as representative/common match numbers rather than permanent squad numbers.

Best Printing Choice: 9 (Roger Boli)

    Other Strong Options: 2 (Éric Sikora) / 4 (Jean-Guy Wallemme) / 8 (Frédéric Meyrieu) / 11 (François Omam-Biyik)

    Printing Recommendation
9 (Roger Boli) We recommend No.9 as the standout choice. Boli scored 20 league goals in 1993–94 to finish joint-top scorer in Division 1, making him the player most strongly associated with this particular season.
2 (Éric Sikora) An excellent club-heritage choice. Sikora was already an established first-team defender and would go on to become one of the greatest appearance-makers in Lens history.
4 (Jean-Guy Wallemme) A strong choice for supporters interested in long-term club identity. The home-grown defender made 35 league appearances during the campaign and became one of the defining Lens players of the era.
8 (Frédéric Meyrieu) A strong midfield option from the 1993–94 side. Meyrieu made 34 league appearances and contributed four league goals during his first season at Lens.
11 (François Omam-Biyik) A highly recognisable international option. The Cameroon striker scored seven Division 1 goals for Lens and gives the shirt a strong connection to African football of the early 1990s.

We recommend No.9 for Roger Boli as the leading printing option for the 1993–94 home shirt. Boli was the outstanding attacking figure of Lens' campaign, scoring 20 goals in 35 Division 1 appearances to finish joint-top scorer in the French championship. He also played a decisive role in the club's Coupe de France run, scoring the equaliser in the memorable 2–1 quarter-final victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. No.9 therefore offers the strongest combination of season-specific performance, club significance and collector recognition.

No.2 for Éric Sikora is an excellent alternative for supporters looking for a deeper Lens connection. Sikora made 33 league appearances during the campaign and was already establishing himself as a major first-team figure. He would ultimately become one of the players most closely identified with Racing Club de Lens, making No.2 an especially attractive club-heritage option.
