The Youth Barcelona 2009-10 Home Kit recreates the iconic red-and-blue shirt worn during Pep Guardiola’s second season in charge, immediately after Barcelona’s historic 2008/09 Treble.
The design returned to Barcelona’s traditional vertical Blaugrana stripes, featuring broad alternating blue and deep red sections across the body. A clean V-neck and contrasting yellow detailing complete a simple, unmistakably Barcelona look that has become strongly associated with the early Guardiola era.
This shirt was worn by an extraordinary generation led by Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Piqué, with Zlatan Ibrahimović joining the attack for the 2009/10 campaign. Barcelona entered the season as European champions and went on to complete an unprecedented collection of six trophies during the 2009 calendar year, before retaining the La Liga title with a then-record 99 points.
For player printing, MESSI 10 is the defining combination. The season included Messi’s first Ballon d’Or, his first FIFA World Player of the Year award and an extraordinary 47-goal campaign for Barcelona.

Historical Significance: The season that completed Barcelona’s historic six-trophy 2009 calendar yearBarcelona entered 2009/10 having just completed the first Treble in Spanish football history, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League in Guardiola’s debut season. Rather than slowing down, the team used the opening months of the new campaign to add the three trophies available to the reigning Spanish and European champions.
Barcelona defeated Athletic Club to win the 2009 Supercopa de España, then beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1–0 after extra time in the UEFA Super Cup, with Pedro scoring the decisive goal.
The Historic Sextuple
The defining achievement arrived in December at the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
Barcelona defeated Atlante in the semi-final before facing Estudiantes de La Plata in the final. Estudiantes led until the closing stages, when Pedro equalised in the 89th minute to force extra time.
Then came one of the iconic moments of Messi's early career. Dani Alves delivered the ball into the penalty area and Messi scored the winning goal in extra time, giving Barcelona a 2–1 victory.
That triumph meant Barcelona had won all six competitions available to them during the 2009 calendar year: La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. No club had previously completed that collection in a single calendar year.
Messi Reaches Another Level
The 2009/10 season was also one of the major milestones in Lionel Messi’s transformation into the dominant individual player of his generation.
Messi finished the campaign with 47 goals in all competitions, equalling Ronaldo Nazário's 1996/97 Barcelona total. Of those, 34 came in La Liga, earning Messi the Pichichi Trophy as the league's leading scorer.
He was particularly spectacular during the Champions League knockout stages. Against Arsenal at Camp Nou, Messi scored four goals in a 4–1 quarter-final second-leg victory, sending Barcelona into the semi-finals.
During the same period, Messi collected the sport's major individual honours for his performances across 2009, including his first Ballon d'Or and the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year award.
99-Point La Liga Champions
Barcelona's domestic title defence became a season-long battle with Real Madrid.
Guardiola’s team eventually finished with 99 points from 38 matches, winning 31, drawing six and losing only once. At the time, 99 points represented a new record total in La Liga.
The campaign included another memorable Clásico victory at the Santiago Bernabéu on 10 April 2010. Messi opened the scoring before Pedro added the second as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2–0 away, a crucial result in the championship race.
Barcelona ultimately finished three points ahead of Madrid to claim a second consecutive La Liga title under Guardiola.
Champions League Semi-final
Barcelona also attempted to defend their European crown.
After progressing from the group stage, they eliminated Stuttgart in the Round of 16 and Arsenal in the quarter-finals before meeting Inter Milan in the semi-finals.
Inter won the first leg 3–1 in Milan. Barcelona responded with a 1–0 victory at Camp Nou, but the Italian side progressed 3–2 on aggregate, ending Barcelona's attempt to reach a second consecutive Champions League Final.
Even without successfully defending the European Cup, 2009/10 remains one of Barcelona's defining modern seasons: 99-point Spanish champions, Club World Cup winners, the completion of the historic Sextuple, and Messi producing the first truly enormous scoring season of his career.
Rec. Player Printing Options
Printing Recommendation MESSI 10 The definitive choice. Lionel Messi scored 47 goals in all competitions and 34 in La Liga, won his first Ballon d’Or and scored the Club World Cup Final winner that completed Barcelona’s historic six-trophy year. XAVI 6 One of the strongest Guardiola-era choices. Xavi was the central organiser of Barcelona’s possession game and a defining figure in the midfield that controlled this period. INIESTA 8 A classic technical midfield option. Andrés Iniesta remained one of the key figures in Guardiola’s system and forms an iconic pairing with Xavi when representing this Barcelona generation. PUYOL 5 The captain’s choice. Carles Puyol led the side through the Sextuple era and represents the leadership and defensive identity of Guardiola’s first great Barcelona team. IBRAHIMOVIĆ 9 A highly season-specific choice. Zlatan Ibrahimović joined Barcelona in summer 2009 and scored 21 goals across all competitions during his only full season at the club. DANI ALVES 2 An excellent attacking full-back option. Dani Alves was fundamental to Barcelona’s right side and supplied the cross from which Messi scored the Club World Cup Final winner. PIQUÉ 3 A strong defensive choice. Gerard Piqué had established himself as a first-choice centre-back and was entering the period in which he became one of the defining defenders of Guardiola’s Barcelona. PEDRO 17 One of the most season-specific alternatives. Pedro scored in six different competitions during 2009 and delivered the late equaliser in the Club World Cup Final before Messi’s extra-time winner. BUSQUETS 16 An excellent Guardiola-era choice. Sergio Busquets became increasingly important as the team's holding midfielder and was already a central component of Barcelona’s positional system. HENRY 14 A strong option from the original Treble-winning attack. Thierry Henry was in his final Barcelona season and remains closely associated with the first phase of Guardiola’s great side. MESSI 10 is the defining printing for the Youth Barcelona 2009-10 Home Kit.
Messi scored 47 goals in all competitions, including 34 in La Liga, as Barcelona retained the Spanish championship with a then-record 99 points.
His connection to this exact shirt goes beyond the numbers. During the season he received his first Ballon d'Or, became FIFA World Player of the Year, scored four times against Arsenal in a Champions League quarter-final and delivered the extra-time winner against Estudiantes in the FIFA Club World Cup Final.
That Club World Cup goal was particularly significant because it secured the trophy that completed Barcelona's unprecedented six-title 2009 calendar year.
For alternatives, XAVI 6 and INIESTA 8 are the classic midfield choices, while PEDRO 17 is an especially strong season-specific option. IBRAHIMOVIĆ 9 is also highly distinctive because the 2009/10 campaign was his only full season with Barcelona.
